I'm using BrOffice and Kubuntu. Open a new text doc and insert a rectangle. Now insert a clipart from the gallery. It is not possible to group the two objects. Do the same inside a new drawing doc. Now it is possible to do a grouping. Yet copy this group to the text doc. Do the ungroup. Now the two objects are good for a new grouping. There must be something missing, or turned off, to the objects when inserting direct in the text doc.
