Public bug reported:

Greetings, I am having this ongoing issue with Ubuntu. Network Manager
sees "New GSM conncetion", and it walks me thru the setup for AT&T
LaptopConnect (using 'broadband' as the APN). But it never ever connects
successfully. I have tried this on Ubuntu 12.04, and now I am even
trying it on Ubuntu 13.04. This just does NOT work.

I have the Dell 5530 Mobile Broadband card. I have gone thru all the
steps for troubleshooting the network card. I am at a loss as to what
the next steps are. I have created a *.doc file which contains all the
outputs for the different test commands I have run. I will attach it
here.

Assistance is badly needed here. I am considering rolling out Ubuntu to
all of the project managers at my company....roughly 40 laptops. But
they ALL have this internal mobile broadband card. Without a fix, I will
have to settle on Windows8, and not too happy with that as a solution
either.
