@jsalisbury I'm booting with a daily live iso from usb on my laptop. I'm not shure if its possible to change the kernel because there is no ubuntu installation on the harddisk. On the harddisk I have Windows 8 booting with UEFI and at the moment I'm not shure if I can install ubuntu alongside without damaging Windows 8 with UEFI.
