  Hello,

i have issues with plymouth on a imac 12,1.
When starting a 64bit kernel on the imac i get a console and i can start X.

When starting a 32bit kernel on the imac i don't get a console and i
  cannot start X.

I have been troubleshooting this for a while now and i thought it was an
error in the graphics driver, but that has been ruled out with the help
  of the upstream developers.

I have then removed plymouth from the 32bit initrd (just removed the
scripts) and my console started to work. So then i enabled
plymouth:debug on the kernel cmd on both the 64bit kernel and the 32bit
and i was a little surprised to see that the 64bit initrdl tried to load
the i915 driver and failed and the 32bit driver loaded the radeon driver
and succeeded but there my console gets disabled somehow.

Attached the debug logs for 64bit and 32bit plymouth debug.
