I'm getting the same problem trying to install Gutsy tribe 1. I'm using an Intel iMac in UK. The thread here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=499387 suggests the following workaround: "If you unplug and replug a USB keyboard on the selection screen it should start working"
