Public bug reported: In current dapper, it appears that a new freetype family was built for security reasons, but the corresponding -dev package was not pushed, so that libfreetype6-dev is not currently installable. Apt's error message and sources.list attached.
(This appears to be a common problem, but libfreetype6 is the first thing I was able to track down. Tangentially, if anyone reading this bug knows of the bug that larts apt/synaptic for giving a completely useless error message when something way down the dependency chain fails, feel free to point it out to me so I can sign on :) (Also tangentially, apologies if this is filed in the wrong place; I can't seem to figure out how to file this specifically against Dapper.) [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/cvs/xournal$ sudo apt-get install libfreetype6-dev Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree... Done Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable distribution that some required packages have not yet been created or been moved out of Incoming. Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that the package is simply not installable and a bug report against that package should be filed.
