The reason I put this in grub-pc et al is that running update-grub when the kernel is updated is part of GRUB owning the boot process, which is part of the definition of grub-pc et al (as opposed to *-bin).
In your case, I think it would perhaps be better to have grub-kexec-bin and grub-kexec packages, as we've discussed before. ** Changed in: grub2 (Ubuntu) Milestone: quantal-alpha-3 => None ** Changed in: grub2 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Triaged -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1011418 Title: Move zz-update-grub to -common pacakge To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub2/+bug/1011418/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
