Nope, it doesn't solve the problem. I haven't tried a full reboot though. My wife is currently working on some files through an smb share, so rebooting would be rude... ;-)
Also, i had a working config before I upgraded to edgy, libxine- extracodex has been on my system since the first install (dapper, one month ago). This suggests this bug is specific for edgy. I've also nuked amarok's user config (~/.kde/share/apps/amarok and ~/.kde/share/config/amarokrc), to no avail.
