I have seen this bug on 3 different machines running Ubuntu. On my current machine, running 12.04, the same result occurs under Unity, Cinnamon and Gnome Classic desktops. This behavior only happens with a narrow set of conditions, the specificity of which I am uncertain; generally, Remmina works as expected, without crashing Metacity. Running with or without Compiz doesn't seem to make a difference. Remmina is an extremely useful utility for supporting users - I am hoping that a workaround will be available if this bug isn't tracked down soon.
