I'm getting the same crash on fully updated 64-bit Kubuntu 12.10. I get the same behavior on both the package from the core repositories (2.7.1+dfsg-3) and if I download and use the latest stable LWJGL package from the library's homepage (https://sourceforge.net/projects/java-game- lib/files/Official%20Releases/LWJGL%202.8.5/).
