The status "fix committed" is incorrect as no package has been uploaded into ubuntu official archive to solve this problem. The proposed patch needs to be converted into a debdiff, or a correct packaging branch merge proposal needs to be made with correct debian/changelog, etc.
This fix should land in Raring first (unless that is working correctly already), before landing in Quantal. Please follow https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates guidelines and update the bug report suitable for stable release update. ** Changed in: virtualbox (Ubuntu) Status: Fix Committed => In Progress ** Also affects: virtualbox (Ubuntu Precise) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: virtualbox (Ubuntu Quantal) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: virtualbox (Ubuntu Raring) Importance: Undecided Assignee: pranith (bobby-prani) Status: In Progress -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1081307 Title: I'm upgrading the 12.04.1 to quantal 3.5 kernel - virtualbox-dkms 4.1.12-dfsg-2ubuntu0.2: virtualbox kernel module failed to build To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/virtualbox/+bug/1081307/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
