** Description changed:

My Linksys WMP600N wireless card stops working after while. It usually
takes a bit of data before it stops working (watching a YouTube video,
transferring files etc.). When it stops working it still shows up as
connected but no traffic passes through until I reconnect again. It's
really annoying having to reconnect all the time.

I installed the Linux Wireless compatibility package to fix the problem,
but sadly a Ubuntu update messed it up again.

  Same problem and card here:
  https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1009855

  EDIT---

  Router:
  Netgear WNDR3700v2
  WPA2-PSK
  No mac filtering
  No QoS enabled

Tested using three different firmvares(Standard firmware, DD-WRT and
  currently OpenWRT)

  Workstation:
  Linksys WMP600N-EU
  Using 802.11n @ 5 GHz

Other computers have no problem using this. Works nicely in Windows on
  the same machine.

- WORKAROUND:
- It seems to work using 802.11g, but not 802.11n.
- Using the rt2x00 driver from compat-wireless fixes the problem. (Ubuntu used
one called rt2800)
+ WORKAROUND: It seems to work using 802.11g, but not 802.11n.

+ WORKAROUND: Using the rt2x00 driver from compat-wireless fixes the problem.
(Ubuntu used one called rt2800)
  How to make it work:
  1. Download the compat-wireless drivers.
  2. Extract it.
  3. cd into the directory.
  4. Select driver by running ./scripts/driver-select rt2x00
  4. run make
  5. run sudo make install
  6. Reboot

Same problem on Ask Ubuntu with a solution(Using the Linux Wireless
compatibility package):
