Public bug reported: For some unfathomable reason, my Unity launcher has become unusable: it still occupies the left edge of the screen, but only a sliver of some unknown icon shows at the top, and the mouse is confused as to what's lying in the apparently blank area. I'm forced to use the Windows key and search for everything.
So I followed the instructions at http://askubuntu.com/questions/72366 /how-can-i-restore-the-unity-launcher to attempt to reset it.
