tried uninstalling and reinstalling some things, are you sure your version of xserver//intel works with my intel 3000 card? I dont know why i cant use switcheroo anymore, i tried your 7 steps again a couple of times, but i cant get past the low graphics warning, and now i cant get back to the intel sandybridge drivers, just this gallium one.
It looks like im going to have to reinstall my system, again. I dont know why- after at least 3 months of this problem, and seemingly hundreds of users affected, multiple bug reports, it hasn't been sorted yet, tonnes of people have been helped by your work around, i try to be proactive and sell ubuntu to my friends, but they'd all laugh now, because i cant get a working system, for 3 months. Grr, anyway, rant over, it'll take me a couple of hours to back up my data, then i'll reinstall, unless you have a better idea. At least a re-install will make troubleshooting more simple.
