Epson has done a move of the driver hosting from Avasys to their own servers, perhaps this happened between the 1.0.0 and 1.0.1 vertsions of your driver, leading to automatic update not working on this transition and the 1.0.1 not being available at Avasys.
system-config-printer is currently the only printer setup tool with a client for printer driver auto-download from OpenPrinting. I have tested the auto-download and it actually downloads the 1.0.1 version from Epson's servers. If you do not want to install system-config-printer (which can pull in a larger amount of dependencies) you can easily manually download all auto-downloadable drivers via the OpenPrinting web site: http://www.openprinting.org/ http://www.openprinting.org/drivers/ http://www.openprinting.org/driver/epson-201115w/ Click on the link for the DEB package for your system's architecture (32-bit or 64-bit) and the Software Center will pop up allowing you to download and install the driver via an "Install" button. An old version of this driver will be replaced by the installation and old print queues will get appropriately updated for the use of the new driver. If you set up a print queue with any printer setup tool now, the new driver will get used for the queue. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1066529 Title: All jobs stopped, epson_inkjet_printer_filter failed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cups/+bug/1066529/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
