I too performed the steps suggested by Subin Hutton, after the recent
Ubuntu-suggested-kernel-update.

So, when I check my kernel (with the "uname -a" command), I now get:
Linux 3.5.0-19-generic #30-Ubuntu SMP Tue Nov 13 17:48:01 UTC 2012 x86_64
x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Subin's suggestions were a successful work-around for me (with my
BCM4322) too. Thanks.

However, this remains a bug because a kernel upgrade shouldn't break
wireless capability that was working fine in a previous kernel (or
require additional steps to sustain the functionality of something that
worked fine before the kernel was upgraded).
