*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 628104 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/628104
I just finished installing the released version of Ubuntu 12.04 amd64 on a laptop/tablet, and I received the second message given by the reporter after the first reboot and when attempting the first application of updates using Update Manager: CD/DVD 'Ubuntu 12.04 LTS _Precise Pangolin_ - Release i386 (20120423)' is required Please insert the above CD/DVD into the drive '/cdrom/' to install software packages from it. Other than this message, I am not sure I have the same problem as the reporter does. The Ubuntu Crash Reporter did say that my issue was a duplicate of this one. The installation was done using an external USB DVD/CD drive. The suggestion in message #4 did not work for me even after multiple refreshes of available updates and a reboot. I believe it did not work because the Update Manager -> Settings... -> Other Software window showed two entries for Cdrom with Ubuntu 12.04 'Precise Pangolin'. I unchecked both lines and closed the dialog. But, when I investigated /etc/apt/sources.list, there were three lines for the cdrom, and only two were commented out. I commented out the third line, saved the file, and then could proceed with Update Manager with no problem. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/990301 Title: update-manager crashed with AptDaemonError in _convert_dbus_exception(): org.debian.apt: Could not cancel transaction To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/update-manager/+bug/990301/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
