Laptop Model Added. ** Description changed:
Basically, if a user hits the power button and clicks suspend, or clicks on the shutdown icon then selects suspend, the request is never processed and the laptop does nothing. IF SUPPORT IS NOT WORKING (the OS detects a problem with the acpi configuration, or with the suspend feature), IT SHOULD BE GRAYED OUT AND DISABLED. from upower: - Installed: 0.9.17-1build1 - Candidate: 0.9.17-1build1 - Version table: - *** 0.9.17-1build1 0 - 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ quantal/main amd64 Packages - 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status + Installed: 0.9.17-1build1 + Candidate: 0.9.17-1build1 + Version table: + *** 0.9.17-1build1 0 + 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ quantal/main amd64 Packages + 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status from acpi-support acpi-support: - Installed: 0.141 - Candidate: 0.141 - Version table: - *** 0.141 0 - 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ quantal/main amd64 Packages - 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status + Installed: 0.141 + Candidate: 0.141 + Version table: + *** 0.141 0 + 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ quantal/main amd64 Packages + 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status Found in both the x86 and x86_64 distributions of ubuntu 12.10running the 3.5.0-18-generic kernel - TECHNICAL ERROR: none. nothign happens. + TECHNICAL ERROR: none. nothing happens. + + LAAPTOP MODEL: Gateway FX Model P-6860 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1084676 Title: laptop does not respond to suspend command. suspend only works when laptop closed.
