bug in esound.

Because it has been more than a year since this bug was open, I guess I should 
begin by asking if you think this workaround is still needed
with latest version? esd today, is mostly used for compatibility with older 
software, as in Gutsy it has mostly been replaced by pulse-audio (I think,
I am a bug triager, not a developer).
