In my desperation I tried a "0a12:0001 Cambridge Silicon Radio, Ltd Bluetooth Dongle" instead of the built-in (0a5c:200a Broadcom Corp. BCM2035 Bluetooth dongle), and I got the file transferred. However I got a kernel Oops and dbus and compiz crashing before a total lock-up. Oh well, I guess we can't blame Gnome for this Oops.
