I have the same problem as described by Directrix1. I have a Thinkpad X41 and an external TFT monitor with a 1680x1050 resolution. However monitor menu information tells me that my monitor is running 1400x1050. I see the same artifacts. Without anti-aliasing it looks really ugly.
xrandr shows that used resolution is 1680x1050 *0 1680 x 1050 ( 427mm x 267mm ) *60 I can resize firefox with a web developer add-on to 1680x1050 and firefox is displayed fullsize. Can it be that there is an internal resolution and the displayed resolution on my monitor is different? Is there any progess on this?
