I went and upgraded to 3.6.7-030607-generic #201211171710 from the Ubuntu Kernel team PPA and still acpi shows discharging even though AC is plugged in. State of AC adapter is and has always been shown correctly - that just doesn't reflect to the charging/discharding status.
