kwriteconfig --file kwinrc --group Compositing --key <?> <?> being either of n,e,p,c for "No fullrepaints", "Extend (nearly full) to full repaints", "full rePaints" and "Copy buffer full repaints". "c" is only reasonable on the nvidia blob and eventually fglrx.
