On some reboots everything works like a breeze, but eventually the
system will spit out the above in its logs and complain about "hd?:
Resource ALREADY IN USE" in the boot sequence. Then either hda or hdc
does not get initiated correctly.

I use Ubuntu 6.06.1 LTS on an AMD64:

#uname -a
Linux parkour.ath.cx 2.6.20.1 #1 Fri Mar 2 21:47:39 CET 2007 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Since it works sometimes and sometimes not i suspect an hardware error?
Maybe i'll try another mainboard. I think i have had the problem as well
when i plugged in the two hard disks into one IDE port as master and
slave (hda and hdb).

If more information is needed i can probably help out.

Thanks in advance
Alexander
