Swâmi Petaramesh, to maintain a respectful atmosphere, please follow the code of conduct - http://www.ubuntu.com/project/about-ubuntu/conduct . Bug reports are handled by humans, the majority of whom are volunteers, so please bear this in mind.
Regarding your comments https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/971750/comments/69 : >"ask people to file a separate bug report for the exact same problem on the >exact same machine ? Just to mark it a duplicate later on ?" Right at the get go, because you are using BTRFS, instead of the more common ext4, this limits significantly the number of triagers and developers who would examine your issue. As well, assuming anyone else's bug is going to be marked a duplicate of yours is presumptuous due to this, and one would not know what hardware they have because they did not file a separate report to validate this. For more on this, please see the Ubuntu Kernel team article: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeam/KernelTeamBugPolicies#Filing_Kernel_Bug_reports the Ubuntu Bug Control team and Ubuntu Bug Squad team article: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/BestPractices#X.2BAC8-Reporting.Focus_on_One_Issue and Ubuntu Community article: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette >"The present bug report is 7 months old, already has 68 comments," The age of a bug and number of comments really has nothing to do with how quickly a bug gets fixed or not. It's only correlated to the quality of information provided, and specialists available to examine your issue. For more on this, please see above.
