Binary package hint: module-init-tools
Adding the line:
options snd-intel8x0 ac97_quirk=7
to /etc/modprobe.d/options emables the LED on my Mute button.
With the options set, the button lights up and correctly toggles its state.
Can we please have this option added to the default file?
