Public bug reported: I just upgraded to 12.10 today, booted into the 3.5 kernel, started up VNC sessions and Samba sessions, and was getting intermittent consistent lag that lasted about 3 seconds, but occurred every 15 seconds. After some basic troubleshooting (because the update broke quite a bit of things IE DHCP), I was told to try booting into an older kernel. Booted back into Kernel 3.2 and the problems disappeared.
The expected output is that lag issues should not be apparent/there.
