I've arrived at the rdesktop solution too. Sure, it's deprecated and all that, but it's more stable than remmina or xfreerdp. It has other, more minor issues with the clipboard and mouse cursors, but for someone who manages lots of Windows systems it's really the only way to do it since the remmina/xfreerdp regressions occurred.
