Juho Leppämäki, thank you for testing the newest mainline kernel. Regarding your comments https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1074823/comments/4 : >"After correctly installing v3.7-rc3-raring with the kernel extra package, the >display driver started working correctly and the brightness control stopped >working. tags: added: kernel-bug-exists-upstream kernel-bug-exists-upstream-v3.7-rc3-raring removed: kernel-fixed-upstream kernel-fixed-upstream-v3.7-rc3-raring"
So, just to clarify, when you did not install the linux-image-extra package, brightness control worked? However, when you installed it, it stopped working? Regarding https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1074823/comments/5 : >"RC4 from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.7-rc4-raring/ fixes >the FN+f9 and FN+f10 behavior." Did you install all of the following: linux-headers-3.7.0-030700rc4-generic_3.7.0-030700rc4.201211041435_amd64.deb linux-headers-3.7.0-030700rc4_3.7.0-030700rc4.201211041435_all.deb linux-image-3.7.0-030700rc4-generic_3.7.0-030700rc4.201211041435_amd64.deb linux-image-extra-3.7.0-030700rc4-generic_3.7.0-030700rc4.201211041435_amd64.deb or did you omit linux-image-extra? Thank you for your understanding. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1074823 Title: [HP Compaq 2510p] Brightness control FN-hotkeys have no effect To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1074823/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
