I tested 12.10 with v3.7-rc3-raring kernel and the FN+f9 and FN+f10 started to work even though no notification of brightness control was shown on the screen. FN+f11 still did not work.
The v3.7-rc3-raring kernel in 12.10 did not function properly what comes to display resolution and graphics performance in Unity.
