Just some additional information from another affected user. Downloaded the latest 12.04.1 ISO on 11/3/12, burnt to CD, and installed on my desktop. Selected updates and third-party software during installation. Immediately after the installation completed and my PC rebooted, I opened update manager and installed all updates. After restarting again, I ran "Additional Drivers" and received this error.
I've installed NO other software - This is a brand-spanking new, fresh installation of 12.04.1, with all current updates (I've also not enabled any other repos). FWIW, I have two GeForce GTX 570 HD cards installed. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/981874 Title: kernel failed to install/upgrade: run-parts: /etc/kernel/postinst.d /nvidia-common exited with return code 1 [IndexError: list index out of range] To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-common/+bug/981874/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
