Nice, thanks for this bug report. However, it seems correct that a removed application should disappear from the Launcher as soon as the removal starts, rather than when it finishes. The application stops being usable very soon after removal begins, and it's not going to become usable any time later, so I don't see any point in showing it any longer. This is unlike when you install an application, where you may be waiting impatiently for it to become usable.
I have updated the USC and software package operations specifications to cover this: "If the item is represented in the Launcher, it should immediately disappear from the Launcher". <https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SoftwareCenter?action=diff&rev2=666&rev1=665> <https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SoftwarePackageOperations?action=diff&rev2=10&rev1=9> If you think there's a good reason the launcher item should stay visible after removal begins, please reopen this bug report.
