Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: usplash

Usplash shows as it should, however it appears that it is using X to
make the screen look crisper while booting. It does indeed look crisper,
and clearer, but it appears to be using a 60hz refresh rate. Since I am
using a PC and not a laptop, it is EXTREMELY hard on the eyes. I
reccomend having the refresh rate be the same as it is when the system
finishes booting, otherwise I would just do away with this change, since
even though it looks nicer, it hurts my eyes. Some people are sensitive
to 60hz and some are not but I am and I am sure I'm not the only one.

** Affects: usplash (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Untriaged
         Status: Unconfirmed
