Joseph, I downloaded both the linux-image*.deb and linux-image-extra*.deb packages to my Downloads directory. When I double clicked on either one there was a sentence at the bottom of the description in Ubuntu Software Center stating:
"You likely do not want to install this package directly. Instead, install the linux-generic meta-package, which will ensure that upgrades work correctly, and that supporting packages are installed also installed." Is it correct that in this case, I can just ignore the above (implicit warning) and install each of these two, one after the other? Thanks. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1070182 Title: Can't connect to the network through a wired connection - Network dialog shows "Wired Cable unplugged" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1070182/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
