This is to document a failed attempt to make use of 2nd external USB bluetooth adapter, intending to workaround this bug.
1. bluetooth-applet: there is no way to configuure which adapter to use. Deadend. 2. blueman: two adapters are displayed, but user only given the choice which adapter visible, not which adapter to use to pare and connect new devices. 3. bluez-simple-agent In general from google search it seems the method to connect using command line changes once half a year, rendering most search results useless, only to waste time. The "latest method" I can find fail to connect the device: pairing is successful, but not connecting: # bluez-simple-agent hci1 00:60:D1:00:4B:78 RequestPinCode (/org/bluez/664/hci1/dev_00_60_D1_00_4B_78) Enter PIN Code: 0000 Release New device (/org/bluez/664/hci1/dev_00_60_D1_00_4B_78) root@lyonesse:~# dbus-send --print-reply --system --dest=org.bluez /org/bluez/nnnnn/hci1/dev_00_60_D1_00_4B_78 org.bluez.Input.Connect Error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.UnknownObject: Method "Connect" with signature "" on interface "org.bluez.Input" doesn't exist -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1071341 Title: bluetooth usb 0489:e048 Foxconn / Hon Hai fail to scan To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1071341/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
