I could solve part of the problem(the latter, the unresponsiveness of
the item).

But I agree with you all. 12.10 doesnt automatically resize the icon if
I have made a custom item and specified the icon image myself. I had to
download a smaller icon of Eclipse to make it fit in the launcher. I see
this being the common problem with all of us.

Now, I am new to reporting bugs, and new to Ubuntu. I made this bug
report 'invalid' when I found solution to my problem(part) on my own. Do
you suggest me to switch it back to 'new', as we all can definitely
infer that there is really no automatic resizing of custom added icons?

** Description changed:

The icon for EclipseIDE in the Dash home is too big than what it is
- expected to be(See attachement). Also, it doesnt respond in a single
- click. On clicking a couple of times, a descriptive window opens up(See
- attachment). It is still not launched upon clicking the launch button.
+ expected to be(See attachement). On providing a smaller icon image, it
+ gets fixed. Seems like, 12.10 doesnt resize the icon images provided by
+ users for custom items. This wasnt an issue with 12.04.
