Thank you very much for your fast response. I had set up my system
perfectly well and when this update didn't out as smoothly as I had
thought it would, I tried to restore the original Ubuntu installation,
which I had backed up with the DD tool. But when the computer had
finished the restoration process, the system didn't work. The file
system was supposed to be defect. I have decided to completely reinstall
this great tool and hope that the version after 12.10 provides a better
update process, as I will have to spend a few hours in front of the
computer again to set it up the way I would like to have it. I
nevertheless donated some money a few hours ago.
