Ok, I tried the upstream Kernel: unseen@shodan-mobile:~$ uname -r 3.7.0-030700rc1-generic
The "Never" setting seems to work now, at least screen stayed on longer than befor, have to test more extensively ... Backlight does not turn off directly after screen dimming, but after an additional period of the time that was set in the settings. So e.g. screen dims after 5 mins and it takes another 5 mins until the backlight turns off. Seems like the dimming somehow breakes the idle time and resets it or something ... ** Tags removed: needs-upstream-testing ** Tags added: needs-upstream-testingkernel-bug-exists-upstream ** Tags removed: needs-upstream-testingkernel-bug-exists-upstream ** Tags added: kernel-bug-exists-upstream needs-upstream-testing -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1069557 Title: backlight stays on after screen off timer; screen off timer can not be disabled To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1069557/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
