I have the same issue after upgrading from 12.04 to 12.10. I use chromium as my default browser. I had to manually install "unity-chromium-extension" after the upgrade but the webapps integration still does not work. I get no notification to create a webapp icon in the launcher when I visit launchpad.net and when I start a webapp chromium forgets all my previously opened webpages so I can't continue on with my last session.
