A precision: I created etc/xinetd.d/xtel and copied the string mentioned in the previous comment but that didn't work, simply because as indicated by Julien in the ubuntu-users-fr mailing list, one also has to install xinetd package (using synaptic for example, it is not installed by default).
Once xinetd was installed xtel worked much better; here's the output of the terminal: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/usr/X11R6/bin$ ./xtel XTEL 3.3b1 [beta], Emulateur MINITEL (C)1991-1998 LECTRA-SYSTEMES & Pierre Ficheux (C)1999-2001 Pierre Ficheux Warning: Cannot convert string "xteldigit" to type FontStruct Warning: Cannot convert string "minig0_8x10" to type FontStruct Warning: Cannot convert string "minig0_16x10" to type FontStruct Warning: Cannot convert string "minig0_8x20" to type FontStruct Warning: Cannot convert string "minig0_16x20" to type FontStruct Warning: Cannot convert string "minig0s_8x10" to type FontStruct Warning: Cannot convert string "minig0s_16x10" to type FontStruct Warning: Cannot convert string "minig0s_8x20" to type FontStruct Warning: Cannot convert string "minig0s_16x20" to type FontStruct Warning: Cannot convert string "minig1_8x10" to type FontStruct Warning: Cannot convert string "minig1s_8x10" to type FontStruct Warning: Cannot convert string "minig0_32x20" to type FontStruct Warning: Cannot convert string "minig0_16x40" to type FontStruct Warning: Cannot convert string "minig0_32x40" to type FontStruct Warning: Cannot convert string "minig0s_32x20" to type FontStruct Warning: Cannot convert string "minig0s_16x40" to type FontStruct Warning: Cannot convert string "minig0s_32x40" to type FontStruct Warning: Cannot convert string "minig1_16x20" to type FontStruct Warning: Cannot convert string "minig1s_16x20" to type FontStruct videotexWidget: Warning: largeur grande fonte = 7 (16 conseille) videotexWidget: Warning: hauteur grande fonte = 13 (20 conseille) Well, it seems that there's a little problem with dependencies (I'm using Ubuntu 6.06 will all updates installed). As I'm having problems with my softmodem, I couldn't test further, sorry. ( news://news.gmane.org:119/[EMAIL PROTECTED] could help for those who'd wish to read the initial thread, in French). -- xtel use inetd.conf instead of xinetd.d https://launchpad.net/bugs/57303 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
