The workaround for the double entry problem is to submit the album to musicbrainz, enter the data there, the reload the disc (ctrl-R). That reads the newly entered data from musicbrainz.
That said, the "submit" notice is misleading (as this bug shows). Also, sound juicer is able to find track names for some CDs from the CD itself.
