We appreciate your response, but you still have not provided the
developers enough meaningful details about the pathway in which you
discovered this bug. You mentioned that 12.04 works fine on your tablet
but that the screen goes black while using 12.10. What was your
transition from 12.04 to 12.10? Are running the two versions on
separate partitions on the same tablet? Did you upgrade from 12.04 to
12.10 using update-manager? Did you do a fresh installation of 12.10
via CD/DVD/USB? Which specific mainline kernels and corresponding deb
files have you installed on 12.04 and tried to boot from? The answers
to these questions will determine what course of action to pursue. We
also need more information about the hardware on your tablet as Ubuntu
sees it. If you still have 12.04 installed on your tablet, in a
terminal you can type:

apport-collect 1052322

and information will be automatically collected. Bear in mind that you
may need to install the python-launchpadlib package from the universe
repository with 'sudo apt-get install python-launchpadlib'.
Additionally, when prompted to give apport-collect permissions for
Launchpad you will need to give it at least the ability to "Change Non-
Private" data as it will be adding information to your bug report.

If 12.10 is still installed, you may want to try to edit the boot entry
in the grub menu. When the grub menu appears, select the entry to boot
'Ubuntu with Linux 3....' (which linux kernel version that corresponds
to 12.10) and press the 'e' key to edit the entry. Go to the 'linux
/boot/...' line and remove the words 'quiet' and 'splash'. Then press
'Ctrl' and 'x' keys together to execute that altered boot entry.

You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively"
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.
