Ronny's fix worked for me. I now have: lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 8 Oct 11 21:45 cdrom -> /dev/sr0 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 3 Oct 11 21:38 cdrom3 -> sr0 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 3 Oct 11 21:38 cdrw3 -> sr0
....3 I think is because I have been swapping out different types of CD/DVD drives.
