Public bug reported: Binary package hint: network-manager-gnome
This is most notable with the network manager frontends, both nm-applet and knetworkmanager startup up in the KDE system tray, display double notifications, and the nm-applet appears to win out when detecting wifi devices and it ends up prompting me for the password each time. I suppose this is because the Gnome key ring manager is unavailable. Network manager password management in KDE should be managed between knetworkmanager and kwallet. Also if I look at my running processes after a fresh login I see other Gnome applications run in the background, needlessly using resources. Adding NotShowIn=KDE to the end of any Gnomish .desktop file in /etc/xdg/autostart resolves the problem for me. Could this statement be evaluated for future inclusion in the referenced packages? gnome-volume-manager, update-notifier, evolution, network-manager-gnome, gnome-power-manager ** Affects: network-manager-applet (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- gnome apps startup up in kde https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/123547 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
