Ubuntu Feisty I tried to download a file as a PDF and it only opened the title headings.
The other option was to download as OpenOffice.org. This gave me a strange looking code. My hack (if that be the right word) for this, is to highlight the code and save it as a .odp in my Home folder, and from there it will open the complete files.
