no, I am not compiling the kernel on my own, I am using Ubuntu 12.04
with the prepared quantal-Kernel.

I tried the new kernel now with interesting results:
Sound is still crippled, but a little less than before maybe. However, as soon 
as I start sound recorder and hit the record button to get a demo for you, the 
sound suddenly is ok.

Something, that sound recorder does when you hit record, heals it. Very
strange.
