This bug report doesn't seem to draw any attention. Anyway, it's a showstopper for me. I was hoping that Gutsy would work but as I tried the Live CD the same problem exists. I getting corrupt data from internet. The memory was not full and swap was not in use.
What I did was download Kubuntu Gutsy Tribe 2 under Kubuntu Dapper on the same computer. Md5sum matched and I burned the CD. K3b checked the CD, no errors. Under boot the screen was a bit corrupt just like under Feisty. It happens when the progress bar is visible. The graphics, mainly the progress bar i guess "copy and strech" to the upper part of the screen. After boot I started KSysGuard to monitor memory usage and Konqueror. Then I went to wallpaperbase.com and started to click pictures to Konqueror tabs. After that I started to download Kubuntu ISO file. After a while, when downloading new pictures from wallpaperbase.com I started to see corrupt images. Swap was not in use. The problem does not arise right away, the computer seems OK for a while. When I was still using Feisty, first I noticed that apt-get complained about corrupt packages. As I mentioned, I am typing this message in Dapper, on the very same computer. In Dapper and Edgy the network works fine. -- Corrupt data from ethernet https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/117167 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
