I also have a 0711:5100 device that didn't work with Lucid, and doesn't work with Precise. If I have enough spare time and energy (almost certainly no sooner than next week), I may try editing the file as suggested in comment #16. I assume that comment is expecting the kernel to be compiled from source, after the file is edited. If so, which sources should I use? (http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel- ppa/mainline/v3.6-rc7-quantal/ for example contains only *image* *image- extra* and *headers* files, not sources.)
It's a long time since I used Gentoo and compiled kernels, so I'd appreciate any hints on the canonical (no pun intended) way of doing this in Ubuntu. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1050566 Title: 0711:5100 sisusbvga driver not working with StarTech USB2VGAE2 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1050566/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
