I'm running Dapper Drake and noted that there apparently is no support for tifm under Dapper. However, it was mentioned that there was another way around it and so I went out and bought a cheap SD card reader/writer and tried it.
It works okay. The permissions aren't quite right -- it won't let me write to it but I suspect somebody who knows what they're doing might be able to get that to work as well. The card reader was distributed by GE for Jasco Products which is out of Oklahoma City, OK. Their website is www.jascoproducts.com and the model number is one of these 4 (my eyesight isn't good enough to read the tiny writing on the unit): HO97929, HO97930, HO97931 and HO97948. Was able to dump four pictures taken from my Olympic camera to my desktop running Ubuntu Dapper Drake.
