In 8.04 there was some other driver used (just gspca, also source was different from the 8.10 one), so if it was rewritten, there is maybe some bug in it. I have also tried to bould it from the latest sources from v4l, but i got the same : [79342.851778] gspca: main v2.4.0 registered [79342.854980] gspca: probing 046d:092f [79342.918474] gspca: probe ok [79342.918522] usbcore: registered new interface driver spca561 [79342.918569] spca561: registered and the output in apps was exactly same as with the previous gspca v2.2.0. On 8.04 , the driver used is (which works correctly) : [ 90.414348] usb 3-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 2 [ 90.522730] usb 3-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice [ 90.648654] Linux video capture interface: v2.00 [ 90.676727] /build/buildd/linux-ubuntu-modules-2.6.24-2.6.24/debian/build/build-generic/media/gspcav1/gspca_core.c: USB GSPCA camera found.(SPCA561A) [ 90.682157] usbcore: registered new interface driver gspca [ 90.682166] /build/buildd/linux-ubuntu-modules-2.6.24-2.6.24/debian/build/build-generic/media/gspcav1/gspca_core.c: gspca driver 01.00.20 registered could you please check ? uname: 2.6.27-9-generic arch: i386 thanks br/P + --- + AlsaVersion: Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.24. + AplayDevices: + **** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices **** + card 0: SB [HDA ATI SB], device 0: AD198x Analog [AD198x Analog] + Subdevices: 1/1 + Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 + ApportVersion: 2.0.1-0ubuntu13 + Architecture: amd64 + ArecordDevices: + **** List of CAPTURE Hardware Devices **** + card 0: SB [HDA ATI SB], device 0: AD198x Analog [AD198x Analog] + Subdevices: 2/2 + Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 + Subdevice #1: subdevice #1 + AudioDevicesInUse: + USER PID ACCESS COMMAND + /dev/snd/controlC0: struharp 2014 F.... pulseaudio + CRDA: Error: command ['iw', 'reg', 'get'] failed with exit code 1: nl80211 not found. + Card0.Amixer.info: + Card hw:0 'SB'/'HDA ATI SB at 0xd4400000 irq 16' + Mixer name : 'Analog Devices AD1984A' + Components : 'HDA:11d4194a,103c3613,00100400' + Controls : 18 + Simple ctrls : 11 + DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 + HibernationDevice: RESUME=UUID=5863ee2f-886e-459d-9949-da25f5d4a4e9 + InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS "Precise Pangolin" - Release amd64 (20120425) + MachineType: Hewlett-Packard HP Compaq 6735s + NonfreeKernelModules: fglrx wl + Package: linux (not installed) + ProcFB: 0 VESA VGA + ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-3.2.0-30-generic root=UUID=40d54041-c999-4c12-a1e8-9511bb7af2d8 ro quiet splash vt.handoff=7 + ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.2.0-30.48-generic 3.2.27 + RelatedPackageVersions: + linux-restricted-modules-3.2.0-30-generic N/A + linux-backports-modules-3.2.0-30-generic N/A + linux-firmware 1.79.1 + Tags: precise running-unity + Uname: Linux 3.2.0-30-generic x86_64 + UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) + UserGroups: adm lpadmin sambashare sudo + dmi.bios.date: 12/09/2011 + dmi.bios.vendor: Hewlett-Packard + dmi.bios.version: 68GPP Ver.
